These awards are organized and coordinated by the pack’s Religious Award Coordinator.
In order to receive a religious emblem, each scout must work together with an adult to complete the appropriate workbook and complete a short interview with one of the deacons from our parish.
The Religious Award Coordinator will present the program to the parents and scouts at one of the fall den meetings and answer any questions you may have.
Overview: The purpose of this emblem is to help the Scout develop a personal relationship with Jesus. With the parents’ active assistance and participation in this program, it is hoped that the Cub will come to see Jesus as a real person and friend.
Eligibility: Tiger or Wolf Scout. In our pack we complete this as a Wolf Scout as the subject material closely aligns with the sacramental preparations completed as a 2nd grader.
Overview: The purpose of this emblem is to help the Scout explore a wide range of activities in order to discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their families and parishes, and also to develop a good, positive self-image through the contributions they can make to the group or community.
Eligibility: Bear or Webelos Scout. In our pack we complete this as a Bear Scout. If the scout does not finish as a Bear, they are still eligible to finish as a Webelo, but must finish before they cross over to Boy Scouts.
These awards can be worked on individually or as a group. The Religious Award Coordinator is available for questions as needed.
